Farncombe FAM Trip Blog!

At the beginning of November, our events assistant Emma was invited to The Fish for a FAM trip hosted by Farncombe Estate and Oetker Collection.

Farncombe is a privately owned, family run estate. Originally a residential training school and headquarters for a global security company, the estate has recently been transformed by a multi-million-pound investment. The estate now offers something quite unique – three integrated luxury boutique hotels: Dormy House Hotel & Spa, Foxhill Manor and The Fish Hotel, along with Hillside Hangouts, which are luxury self-catering cottages.

The group were given tours of all three properties on the estate, starting with Dormy House, which is located at the highest point on the Farncombe Estate, and provides a cosy retreat overlooking the Cotswold village of Broadway. The hotel has a homey feel, with warm log fires in almost every room. The hotel has 39 luxurious bedrooms and suites, which all benefit from the use of the House Spa. Dormy House is great for incentives and team building retreats and can be taken on an exclusive use basis for up to 78 guests!

After Dormy House, it was a short drive down the hill for a tour of Foxhill Manor. Foxhill is a Grade II listed Arts and Crafts country home refreshed and revitalised for the 21st century, creating an intimate 5-star private manor house hotel. The hotel offers a different type of personal service where your stay revolves around you, allowing you to create the perfect event tailored to every requirement. The hotel can be taken on exclusive use with 8 bedrooms for up to 16 guests, and more accommodation at the sister hotels. The ballroom has a capacity for up to 60 guests, perfect for dining and entertaining with your team or with clients. Foxhill Manor also benefits from the use of the facilities at the House Spa at Dormy House.

The final tour was of the largest hotel on the estate, The Fish. The Fish’s contemporary bedrooms are spread throughout various individual buildings within the grounds, along with Hilly Huts, Hideaway Huts and three Treehouses nestled into the woodland. The seafood inspired Hook restaurant is located at The Fish, and the group were treated to a delicious meal in the conservatory dining room, which can be privately hired for dinners for up to 16 guests. The hotel also offers another private dining experience, the Feast Deck, which is decorated as a ski lodge in winter, and sundeck during the warmer months. This space can be privately hired for groups between 10-20 people to dine from the seasonal menu. The hotel has a range of lounges and seating areas for guests to relax, as well as a private meeting room which has a capacity for up to 20 delegates.

Alongside the tours, the group were given the opportunity to trial some of the activities on offer at Farncombe Estate! The activities chosen were axe/knife throwing, archery, and having a go on the hovercrafts! It was a lot of fun to try these out and was a great ice breaker for the group. There is such a broad selection of activities offered at Farncombe, perfect for a team-building or incentive retreat!
